University Village is the nation's largest privately-funded 'green' urban student housing development located on the southeast corner of South University Avenue and Forest Street, just two blocks from the entrance to the University of Michigan's Diag, and close to the Undergraduate and Graduate Libraries, the President's Residence, and the Michigan Student Union. The development will be an energy efficient, high performance, LEED certified mixed-use building featuring first floor retail, underground parking, and a full spectrum of amenities including a fitness center, on-site cafe, and ZipCars. Kirkwood is managing marketing and public relations during the pre-development phase.
